Better With Age

How young people see seniors and the aging process. Some fear physical frailty while others look forward to having more time for hobbies, but which preconceptions are right, and which are wrong? We surveyed 2,000 people aged 16-34 then checked their beliefs against the evidence to find out.

Blue Care

The University of Queensland and Blue Care have forged a formal academic link and developed The University of Queensland/Blue Care Research Practice Development Centre (RPDC). This is a significant collaborative initiative that strengthens academic/industry partnerships and provides mutual benefit to both organisations.

National Seniors Association

National Seniors is a not-for-profit membership based community organisation which has as its major objectives:

  • To provide economic and social benefits for people 50 years and over;
  • Represent its members views to Government at all levels;
  • To make donations and provide service and advice to charitable institutions assisting people 50 years and over.

Probus Association of Queensland

Probus aims to advance Probus as a worthwhile community organisation for retired and semi retired people by sharing ideas and information, coordinating multi club opportunities for friendship, fellowship and social interaction, and assisting with the formation of new clubs

University of the Third Age, Brisbane

Brisbane U3A is one of many similar U3A organisations in Australia. Formed in 1986 we provide leisure and educational courses to local seniors. U3A Brisbane has been situated at 97 Creek Street since 2012 and now has in excess of 3,500 members offering over 240 courses. We also have alternate premises at 232 Adelaide Street in the Brisbane CBD, both locations are handy to train, bus and City Cat services.

Alzheimer's Disease International

Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) is the umbrella organisation of Alzheimer associations around the world. We aim to help establish and strengthen Alzheimer associations throughout the world, and to raise global awareness about Alzheimer's disease and all other causes of dementia.
