Is Voluntary Assisted Dying (VAD) the ‘solution’ to end-of-life care?
Free Panel Discussion.
The University of Queensland’s Centre for the Business and Economics of Health invites you to attend their upcoming free online panel event.
Within the broader population, VAD can be mistakenly perceived as predominantly relevant to ageing Australians. Furthermore, it’s a common misconception that young to middle-aged Australians believe this will be a viable option for them ‘when the time comes’.
Realistically, complex legal and administrative arrangements mean that VAD will only be accessible to a very small number of patients. Those who cannot access it will need to look for other end-of-life options, such as palliative care.
Join us as our panellists explore common misconceptions about VAD, end-of-life care and economic impacts, and how Australia should plan for a world with Voluntary Assisted Dying.
